Surgery for Wren!
Help Wren with a Donation!
Meet Wren 🐶 She has been at the emergency vet since Saturday night and will be having surgery Monday (2/19). She needs your thoughts, prayers, and donations❤️
This little 3lb baby has Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) and needs surgery to survive. Her tiny heart is struggling, and without this surgery, she will not survive. She's only 4 months old, and her medical journey began when we discovered her enlarged heart last week. An appointment with a cardiologist was made but she rapidly declined on Saturday which resulted in a trip to emergency vet and then a transfer to UGA to see a cardiologist. Despite her challenges, Wren's spirit is strong. She's in congestive heart failure and relies on constant oxygen support, yet she continues to fight.
To give her the best chance at life, we're moving forward with the surgery. It's risky, but it's her only hope. She's too small for the cardiac catheter-based surgery, so an open-chest procedure is necessary. This is scary but is what we must do to save her! The doctors believe that if we can get her through this, Wren will go on to live a long and happy life.
However, we can't do this alone. The cost of Wren's emergency care, hospitalization, and surgery is approximately $5000. This is a significant amount for our rescue, but we're committed to giving Wren every chance she deserves. If you're able to contribute, we would be incredibly grateful.
Your generosity can make a world of difference for Wren and for us.
Thank you for being a part of our TLC Family and for supporting Wren! Please send Wren good vibes and prayers for surgery and recovery. We will keep you updated on her progress. Thank you all!
2/21 Update: We are thrilled to share that Wren had a super successful PDA surgery and is resting comfortably in her foster home ♥️ The doctors were so impressed with how well her heart recovered after surgery and we are thrilled to have her back in our arms.
